Service Description

This class centres on contemporary release technique as a framework for developing efficiency of movement, dynamic range, and embodied awareness. Through structured floor work, travelling sequences, and choreographic material, dancers investigate the relationship between breath, weight, gravity, and momentum, with an emphasis on reducing unnecessary tension and optimising muscular engagement. Technical principles such as initiation, suspension, fall and recovery, and the articulation of the spine are explored to support clarity, coordination, and fluid transitions between movement states. The class encourages dancers to refine proprioception, musical responsiveness, and expressive nuance, while building strength, mobility, and functional alignment. Designed for adult dancers with prior movement experience, this class provides a rigorous yet supportive environment in which to deepen technical understanding, expand physical range, and develop a sustainable, intelligent contemporary movement practice.
